Dr. Saito’s Observations: Agent Francis was a close associate of Agent Dunham. Although he was never an actual member of Fringe Division, he was very involved in its operations. Perhaps this was because of his relation with Agent Dunham, but this involvement ultimately led to his death in 2009.

Agent Francis was vital to Fringe Team success in a few of their cases by getting information from his contacts and organizing strike teams and other FBI movements to assist Agent Dunham in the apprehension of terrorists like Conrad, a bioweapons inventor and dealer (see Case File S01E13 Date 02/03/09)

Supplemental: After going through the case files extensively, I found Agent Francis was actually infected with the brood of a creature that Fringe Division killed in early 2009. His involvement with Fringe Division only spiraled downward in that year, leading to his death in early October. The case file says that shots were fired by Agent Dunham. The shots were supposedly in self-defense, but what would make Agent Francis turn on Agent Dunham?
