Dr. Saito’s
Observations:
The ringleader of Fringe Division. Colonel (at the time) Philip Broyles was the
man who recruited Agent Dunham to Fringe Division. Initially, Colonel Broyles
was the man who sat in the office and gave his agents orders, but after Agent
Francis’ death, he took up his position and became Agent Dunham’s temporary
field agent partner until Peter Bishop and Agent Lee filled in the gap in 2011.
Colonel Broyles was hostile towards Agent Dunham in the beginning because she arrested a friend of his. But as they began working together more and she was solving more and more Fringe events, he put aside his hostility and came to consider Agent Dunham a friend, and later, family as he stated in one of their cases when the Bishops and Agents Dunham and Farnsworth's lives were on the line.
He continued to lead Fringe Division after 2013 and continued to recruit more agents to the branch, including Agent Amy Jessup, who assisted with several cases in September of 2009 including the investigation of Agent Dunham's disappearance and the transgenic mole child in Pennsylvania.
